Seabee Lou
This site tells the story of a young man who at 19 years of age enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December of 1942. Lou Rodriguez was born in Humboldt County on California’s north coast. He was raised in San Francisco and graduated from Lowell High School. Lou lived to be 91 years old, and was married for 63 years.
Some years ago he wrote about his experiences in the Seabees and that is where these stories comes from.

510 split into 3 detachments. I was in detachment that served at:
DUTCH HARBOR
COLD BAY
ADAK
THE GREAT SITKIN
ANDREWS LAGOON
Shipped back to states in October 1944
CAMP PARKS
Put into CBRD and shipped out from Treasure Island
GUAM
Arrived on Guam December 1944 and put into CCBD 1059
In March 1944 joined the NCB 144
